The Jeannette Soccer Club is excited to share an important update that will take effect beginning with the Fall 2026 season. In alignment with new guidelines from PA West Soccer and US Youth Soccer, player age groups will transition to a new seasonal-year format designed to better align players with their school classmates and peers.
Under the updated age matrix, players will now be grouped based on an August 1 through July 31 seasonal-year calendar rather than the previous January through December birth-year system. This change marks a return to the format that many families may remember from years prior to 2017.
The Jeannette Soccer Club views this as a very positive step for player development and team continuity. One of the biggest benefits of the new structure is that more players will have the opportunity to play alongside classmates and friends, helping strengthen team chemistry, communication, and overall enjoyment of the game. PA West Soccer has stated that the change is intended to create a more inclusive environment while supporting both social and athletic development.
While some families may notice adjustments to their child’s age group placement, the club is committed to helping make the transition smooth and easy to understand. Coaches and club leadership will continue focusing on what matters most — creating a positive environment where players can grow their skills, build confidence, and enjoy competing together.

The Jeannette Soccer Club is excited for the future and looks forward to welcoming players back this fall for another great season of development, teamwork, and fun
